tuesdy and wensday
on tuesday we were in the liberary for half of the day researching individualty on the dirrerent types of external wall cladding.
we had to research 4 different types, i chose 2 james hardi products. one was hardi flex sheets which i already knew about form working with this product on site.
the second product was hardi plank weatherbord which we use on some of our gables on site as well.
when lookin up timber cladding i took in new information which has helped me with putting wall cladding into practice.
the second half of the day we started a booklet on wall cladding and sheeting, it was to take offs , costs and calulations of how much product we needed.
on wensday first thing,we went over the research we did yesterday as a group. then we worked out how much cladding we needed for the walls we have allready completed outside in our little house, it took me a while to work out the maths, but it came to me in the end.
once we worked out how much we needed we split up into groups of three and started cladding a wall, greg and i completed half the wall and will finsh it off the next day. i found it fun and lernt new things

today we completed our wall framing we used braces and dog legs to square and plum the tops of the walls off . i cut out a type2 brace which is a sheet of mdf which went along the nib wall on the outside of the shower, it was 919mm by 2400mm which i got level and then nailed . overall we all thought we did well .......................
friday
on friday we were out side all day placing the rest of of the walls in place . we had to make up nip walls for the bathroom , once every walls were in place we clamped them together and nailed them together . i got a string line and put it right round the house along the bottom plate , then pulled the string line out so it was olny a pencil thickness out from the bottom plate, we pulled or pushed the wallframes around the house untill it was in line with the string line
thursday
on thursday we split up into to groups to start building our wall frames. we split the house down the middle and did half the wall framing each group our first frame we completed was together so we had a understanding of our own. it was simple we chose a wall to completed each got the top and bottom plates wich we marked out yesterday, we counted how many studs there were onthe the plates then cut them at 2330mm because our walls were 2400 andthe top and bottom plates were 35mm thick we cut the noggings in then cut the thickness of the windows and then nalied it all together with the nail gun.
wemarked where the bracing went on a 45 angle then cut 19mm cuts where needed across the brace and nailed it temperarywhen all the frames were done we could start the assambley . i think on that day we olny got 4 walls up and braced
